Golden Apple Award

Guidance Counselor Mrs. Gallagher was awarded the Golden Apple at the May Board of Education meeting. Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Laudermilt and Elementary Principal Mrs. Galloway presented her with the award.

I am honored to recommend Mrs. Dana Gallagher, our dedicated school guidance counselor, for the Golden Apple Award. Her unwavering commitment to our students and staff makes a lasting impact on the success and well-being of our school community.

Mrs. Gallagher plays a critical role in the IAT (Intervention Assistance Team) process, working through complex situations involving interventions, retention decisions, and referrals for special education. She not only schedules and organizes meetings but is also an effective listener and meticulous note-taker, ensuring that all voices are heard and that every student receives the appropriate support. Her insight and thoughtful suggestions provide valuable guidance to teachers and families, especially when addressing academic and behavioral challenges.

Beyond her IAT responsibilities, she continues to support our students through Character Counts lessons, individualized counseling, and school-wide initiatives that promote social-emotional growth. Her dedication, professionalism, and compassion make her an indispensable part of our school.

For these reasons, I wholeheartedly recommend Mrs. Dana Gallagher for the Golden Apple Award and appreciate your thoughtful consideration of her for this well-deserved recognition.
