The St. Clairsville-Richland City School District, as well as other school districts across the State of Ohio, is participating in an effort to locate, evaluate, and identify all children from 3 through 21 years of age who may have disabilities.
Disability, in this instance, means such conditions as autism, cognitive disability (mental retardation), deaf-blindness, deafness, emotional disturbance, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury, and visual impairment.
Information may be obtained from parents and the student, or from other agencies that have information about the student. This information, as well as district level testing and assessment information, will be used to determine whether the child has a disability and needs special services. All information will be held in strict confidence and released to others only with parent permission or as allowed by law.
The St. Clairsville-Richland City School District is committed to meeting the needs of children with disabilities. If you have or know of a child, residing within the district, that may have a disability, please contact Diane Thompson, Director of Special Education, by calling 740-699-2219 or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
